Press Release * Pakistani culture and craftsmanship took center stage at the Annual Diplomatic Charity Bazaar, held on Saturday, November 16, 2024, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The Pakistan Embassy’s stalls, showcasing an array of traditional souvenirs and delectable snacks, attracted widespread admiration from local and international visitors alike. The event, organized by the Diplomatic Spouses Group Ethiopia (DSGE), aimed to raise funds for charitable causes. As the diplomatic hub of Africa, hosting the African Union, UN regional offices, and 140 embassies, the event drew more than 7,000 attendees. Over 50 embassies, including Pakistan, participated in the Bazaar, displaying their unique products and cultural heritage. Pakistan’s three stalls featured a wide selection of items, including home décor, textiles, Camel Skin and Himalayan salt lamps, pashmina shawls, footballs, carpets, and snacks. These exquisite products resonated strongly with visitors, generating significant interest, particularly among local traders exploring opportunities to import Pakistani goods. The exquisite Pakistani products were sold like hot cakes. The success of the Pakistan stalls was made possible through the concerted efforts of the Mission, particularly Ambassador’s spouse, who has the honor of recently being elected as Chair of Diplomatic Spouse Group. Pakistani Stall maintained its tradition of raising significant funds for the charity, doubling the donation compared to last year. Enhancing the festive atmosphere, the Embassy seized the opportunity to showcase Pakistani culture with a captivating dress show featuring children and couples, set against the backdrop of enchanting Pakistani music. The event not only underscored the rich heritage and craftsmanship of Pakistan but also highlighted its commitment to philanthropy and cultural exchange, leaving a lasting impression on all attendees.
